The Wisconsin Homeowners Alliance is a nonpartisan, nonprofit advocacy organization working on behalf of Wisconsin homeowners, seasonal residents, farmers, business owners and other individuals and organizations with an interest in the reasonable regulation of property ownership.
Established in 2005 as a nonstock Wisconsin corporation, the WHA has been recognized as a tax exempt advocacy organization under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. WHA’s tax identification number is 20-2931469. Donations to the WHA are attributed 100 percent to lobbying and political expenses as defined in the Internal Revenue Code and are not deductible as charitable contributions or as ordinary or necessary business expenses. For guidance on this point and other tax matters, you should consult your tax advisor.
Unless you tell us otherwise, it is our understanding that your donation is an unrestricted, general support grant to the WHA and is not earmarked or targeted support for any specific WHA activity. Instead, the WHA’s board of directors and staff will determine how the funds will support the organization’s program activities. While it is possible that a portion of your donation may be used for political purposes (such as supporting or opposing candidates), you are not donating specifically for such purposes.
